Belgrade City Code Update
The Belgrade Zoning Code Update is officially COMPLETE. The Zoning Code and its respective documents were approved unanimously by Belgrade City Council on July 17, 2023. Thank you to everyone who provided valuable insight into creating a code that will guide development for years to come. The final documents are linked below and on the "Adopted Zoning Code" side bar.
The City of Belgrade is updating its zoning code, which has not been updated since 1977. The City is interested in incorporating concepts of a form-based code which regulate things like building height, streetscape and setbacks rather than the use of a parcel. We'd like to hear from you about your vision for the future of Belgrade and how zoning can help achieve that vision. Share your big idea, tag our map, or take a survey to engage with Be Heard Belgrade!
So, what is zoning?
Zoning is a regulatory framework designed to implement a community vision and minimize adverse impacts. Zoning regulations are designed to ensure that as new development occurs, it is consistent with and will help a community achieve its vision for the future.
