FAQs
Why is parking being removed?
The areas currently being used for parking are within public right-of-way and were not formally designated as on-street parking. To improve safety, drainage, and pedestrian access within the existing road right-of-way, the reconstructed corridor will not accommodate on-street parking.
Will replacement parking be provided?
The City and project team will evaluate whether limited parking opportunities exist on nearby side streets. However, replacement parking is not guaranteed.
Will I still have access to my driveway?
Yes. Access to homes will be maintained during and after construction. Some driveways may require minor adjustments to meet updated roadway grades and ADA requirements.
Are sidewalks being added on both sides of the street?
Sidewalk improvements are planned to improve pedestrian connectivity and safety. Final configurations will be confirmed as design progresses.
What is happening at Triangle Park?
Triangle Park will remain a community space. The project is evaluating whether stormwater improvements could be integrated into the park area in a way that maintains it as a usable neighborhood amenity. Any proposed changes will be shared publicly before decisions are made.
Will there be street lighting?
Lighting is anticipated at intersections and pedestrian crossings, potentially using solar-powered fixtures where feasible. No corridor-wide wired lighting is currently planned.
Will utilities be upgraded?
Yes. The water main will be upsized from 8” to 10” to support long-term system needs. Stormwater improvements will also be made to meet upcoming regulatory requirements.
What should I expect during construction?
Residents can expect temporary traffic disruptions and construction activity during the 2026 season. Access to homes will be maintained, and the City will provide advance communication before construction begins.
How can I share feedback?
You can submit comments through this Be Heard Belgrade page, attend public meetings, or request a one-on-one conversation with the project team.
